National Project Linus OrganizationProject Linus began on Christmas Eve, 1995 in Denver Colorado when Karen Loucks decided to provide handmade security blankets for children going through cancer treatments.St. Louis Chapter Project Linus
After reading an article in Women's Day magazine in the
summer of 1997, the St. Louis Chapter of Project Linus was started.
Spreading the Word
The first delivery was made on November 20, 1997 when
16 blankets were given to St. John's Mercy Hospital. Over the years, our
St. Louis Chapter has been featured in various newspaper articles and in
a segment of ShowMe St. Louis in April, 2000. We now have over 150
"blanketeers" who make our beautiful security blankets.
Blanketing St. Louis
Besides St. John's Mercy, we also deliver blankets to
Children's Hospital, Cardinal Glennon, Shriner's Hospital,Nurses for
Newborns, and Voices for Children (formerly CASA). Over the past years,
